John Heise
Education: B.S. and M.S. in Education; Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration.
Employment/Professional Memberships: Retired school administrator
Family: Wife, Sandra, retired teacher; daughter, Samantha, school social worker; son, Kevin, Coordinator of Academic Integrity at Virginia Commonwealth University.
School/Community Activities: Serves on the Holley School Board, currently as president; three-time past president of Holley Rotary Club; Village of Holley trustee; served on the Board of Directors of the Lakeside Foundation, and as a trustee of the Holley Community Library.
What motivates you to run for the Holley Board of Education?
"I want to give something back to the community. My family and I have lived in Holley for 29 years. I also know the power of education to change lives and want to contribute to the future of our children. Much has been accomplished during my first two terms on the Board of Education and I want to continue the movement forward by serving another term. Much also remains to be done and I wish to be part of that."
Dorothy Morgan

Family: Husband, Ed; three children and six grandchildren
School/Community Activities: Serves on the Holley School Board; Fancher Hulberton Murray Ladies Auxiliary member; active church member; helps in the community when asked and needed.
What motivates you to run for the Holley Board of Education?
“I am running again to continue to do the work that has been started. I believe we are doing good things at the school. It is more positive with different programs evolving. We are presenting to the voters a capital project that I hope they really look at, before they make their decision to vote yes or no. We are also presenting a budget that I believe is the best and the most fair for our district. I hope that if the community has questions or concerns or input, they will come to the meetings on the project and voice their concerns, and then make their decision.”
Brenda Swanger

Family: Husband, Larry, Town of Clarendon highway superintendent; daughters, Michelle and Tiffany, both Holley High School graduates who have returned with their families to live in the area.
School/Community Activities: Serves on the Holley School Board, currently as vice president; active with school committees and, in the past, was a member of the Music Boosters, Sports Boosters and PTSA.
What motivates you to run for the Holley Board of Education: “I am running for the Holley School Board because the first six years as a school board member were a colossal learning experience and I hope to continue to provide a service to my community. My goal as a board member is to positively influence our school environment so the students and community have a school to be proud of. I hope to help Holley Schools provide a successful learning program for our students. In doing so, the Board will continue to watch our finances and spend tax dollars wisely. I feel, as a district, we have been creative in offering new opportunities to our students and I will continue to work with the Board to create a positive learning environment for our children within a reasonable budget.”
