The district continuously looks for ways to economize costs and maximize revenue and tax dollars. The following list highlights some cost containment strategies we employ:

·         Health Insurance and Workers’ Compensation insurance consortia:

Saves significant money by pooling resources with other local school districts.

·         Energy saving and cost control devices:

Including the Middle School/High School improvements in windows and renovation of classroom space.

·         Standardize bus models:

Interchangeable parts provide efficiencies in purchasing, storage, inventory control, and maintenance.

·         Towns, Village and School District working together:

The surrounding towns, the Village of Holley, and Holley Central School District work collaboratively to share resources, where possible.

·         Bidding process:

Necessary when seeking certain services that cost more than $20,000 and to purchase numerous items ranging from paper, to food products, to supplies and materials.

·         Cooperative agreements:

Partner with other school districts in order to reduce the cost of items such as copiers, computers, staff training, data management, special education, science materials, and much more.
