Holley MS/HS Teacher Tests Positive for COVID-19

January 12, 2021

Dear Holley Central School District Families and Staff,

This notice is to inform you that a Holley Central School District Middle/High School Teacher has tested positive for COVID-19. The last day the teacher was in school was Monday, January 11. The district is unable to legally disclose any other additional details or personal identifiable information about this individual per the federal privacy laws.

The health department is still processing this case and we will cooperate with them. If warranted, any official decision on mandatory quarantining of students or staff members will come directly from the health department. If the health department indicates to us that there is quarantining required for the students (Red Hawks) who may have had close contact with this teacher on Monday, we will reach out to those families ASAP. In the meantime, if you don’t hear from the school district or the department of health, there’s nothing for anyone to do at this time.

If your son/daughter is contacted and put on mandatory quarantine, please call the school nurse at 638-6316, ext. 5100. We will work with your son/daughter about being fully remote during the quarantine period.

It is recommended that students and staff members continue daily monitoring for symptoms of COVID-19 which could include fever, loss of taste or smell, headache, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, sore throat, fatigue, congestion or runny nose, body aches and/or nausea. If these or unusual symptoms occur, please consult our school nurse or your medical provider.  Thank you.

Please continue with safe practices of mask wearing, social distancing and frequent hand-washing.

Thank you for your continued efforts to remain safe.

Brian Bartalo
Superintendent of Schools
