Reopening School Survey
Greetings Holley Families,

I hope this message finds you healthy and enjoying the warm, summer weather.

As you may be aware, Governor Cuomo recently announced that all districts across New York State will be sent guidelines for opening schools in September. The plan is for schools to receive the reopening guidance on Monday, July 13. Each school district has to submit their reopening plan to NYS by July 31. During the week of August 1-7, the Governor will be announcing how schools will operate to start this school year. We anticipate knowing what conditions our schools will be operating under this fall by the end of the first week of August.

Given this information, we know we have a lot of work to do, and we need input from our families.  Included in this message is a link to a survey that we're asking each family of a Holley student to complete.  If you have more than one child attending school in the Holley Central School District, please complete the survey once.

As soon as we have the guidance from NYS, we will be working with our staff to determine our plans to reopen. Having input from families will be very valuable to us, especially as we consider safety conditions, schedules and transportation needs for our students.

It's important to note that although we need your input, the final decision about schools reopening and how schools will operate this fall will be determined by the Governor and the State Education Department. However, we want to be proactive and prepared for any conditions, as we want the best opportunities for our students. We need to be ready for an opening of school with safety considerations (masks, sanitizing, distancing, etc.) for all students and staff, a "hybrid" model where students attend school in person on a rotational basis and do some "distance learning," and a model where students are again learning remotely, like we ended this past school year. It goes without saying that all of us at Holley CSD are hoping and planning for as much in-person learning as is allowed by the State, the CDC and our Health Department officials.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this brief survey. We need and value your input, and look forward to our continued partnership in the education of the students of Holley.

If you have any questions or problems with the survey, please contact your child's school office or the district office at 638-6316.

Stay Strong, Holley!
