Holley CSD COVID-19 Update - March 20
Dear Families,

The Holley Central School District is still closed until further notice.  Officially, the governor has closed all schools in New York State until April 1.  If that date is changed, I will communicate an update as soon as possible.

On March 20, the NY State Education Dept. has announced that all grade 3-8 assessments have been canceled.  No decision about Regents exams, has been made at this time.

We had a successful first week of food distribution.  Our plan will be exactly the same for next week, which is to provide a free breakfast and lunch to all children under the age of 18.  There’s no need to pre-register, just show up to one of our five distribution sites.  If you have a hardship with picking up food, please contact our food service office at 638-6318, ext.2566.  Our five sites will have food available for pick-up from 8-10 a.m. each day.  I want to sincerely thank our food service workers, transportation, and building & grounds departments for their efforts with our food distribution.  Along with the support of our faculty and administration volunteers, we supplied hundreds of meals each day to our kids.  Bravo.

I can’t say enough about the efforts made by our instructional staff, coaches, and, especially our students and families, to keep learning happening at home!  Thank you for all you’re doing to keep our kids learning and active during this remarkable time.  If you have questions regarding at-home learning activities and resources, please check the Holley CSD website: http://www.holleycsd.org/Athomelearningresources.aspx

During this time, there are often more questions than answers.  We will do our best to provide the district and community with as much up-to-date information as possible.  Thank you for continuing to read emails from our district and our principals.  If you need assistance or have concerns, please reach out to us.  Although we’re mostly working remotely now, you can always email an administrator or leave us a message, and we will get back to you ASAP.  Thanks for your patience and understanding as we work through this together.

As has been stated, the most important thing is to remain safe and practice good hygiene and social distancing to minimize the spread of this virus.  Please take care of yourselves and be well.   We will get through this Holley; we are strong, and we are together.

Proud to be your Superintendent,

Brian Bartalo
