Monday Message from Mrs. Cory
Happy Monday Hawk Students and Families.

I hope that you are all staying safe and calm.  These are crazy times, and we will get through them together.

I am happy that so many have already reached out asking about schoolwork.  Our teachers started planning for this possibility on Friday afternoon.  Most teachers have put work in Schoology for you.  They have been asked to prepare about two hours of work per subject per week.  The work will reinforce the instruction and skills that you should be familiar with.  They may also put some videos, readings, etc., for you to access.

My expectation for students is to check their student emails each day and to check schoology regularly for messages from your teachers.  We want you to keep your mind active.  These are some very interesting times.  We are living through a time that is making history.  Think of the things you will be able to share about your 2020 school year.

The school building is open for healthy adults and children to come and pick up things from your lockers from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. today (3/16), and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. the remainder of the week (3/17-20).  We strongly encourage you to come in as soon as you can, as we have no way of knowing what the next few days will be bringing.  We are asking everyone to sign in and out.  We are also asking that you leave the building as soon as you have your belongings.

If you need a computer to use, we have contacted those who have told us that they needed them.  If you were not contacted and need a computer, please send an email or give us a call so that we can have one ready for you.  If you do not have internet access at home, we have heard that Spectrum is providing free internet for students in schools closed by the virus.  If you are still not able to obtain access, please contact me.

This week, we will begin food service on Wednesday, March 18.  If you would like to participate in the free meal program, please use this link to order your meals: http://bit.ly/HCSDFood.  Pick-up will be from 8-10 a.m. at five locations.  You can pick up free breakfast and lunch for any child age 0-18.  The locations are Clarendon Town Hall, County-Line Rd. and Gulf Rd., Fancher-Hulberton-Murray Fire Hall, Holley ES back bus loop, and Thomas Estates bus loop.  Please watch for updates on food delivery dates and locations.

There are some things that you can do to keep your mind active during this time: read something, play a game, talk to people without using technology and go outside to play.

Remember that your safety and the safety of our community is our focus.  Wash your hands, and cover your coughs and sneezes.  Stay away from sick people, and stay away from people and places if you are sick.

We are here for you.  We miss you already.  If you need something, you can call, email or text.  My cell number is 585-749-0510.  If you text, tell me who you are.  I will only answer and reply when I can.

Take care of yourselves and each other.

Remember, we are Holley Strong!
