District Update - School Closure for Remainder of Year
Greetings Families and all in the Holley School Community,

As you may have heard, today Governor Cuomo declared that all New York State schools are to remain closed for the duration of the academic year.  Therefore, we will not be returning to school this year.

Although this is disappointing news, it’s not surprising, given the importance of ensuring the safety of all our students and staff during this time of uncertainty with the coronavirus.

I will continue to provide updates regarding the future of district events, especially our graduation ceremony.  We plan to consider options that will recognize our students, especially our seniors, to the best of our ability.

Thank you for continuing to follow and support our at-home learning plans for students.  Given today’s news, we will be making some updates to our plans as well as providing information regarding year-end grades and report cards soon.  Until then, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s teacher, an administrator, or check our district website for information and helpful resources. Here is the link to our COVID-19 Information page: http://www.holleycsd.org/COVID-19Information.aspx.

Along with remote instruction, the Holley Central School District remains committed to providing meals for students throughout the rest of this academic year.  Our plan is to continue to deliver to our sites on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. If you have any questions regarding food distribution or need additional support, please contact our Food Service Office at 638-6316, ext. 2566.

Next week (May 4-8) is Teacher Appreciation Week, and we will be recognizing and celebrating all our staff at Holley.  Our staff members are truly essential workers and heroes, and they should be recognized as such.  I am personally very proud of the efforts of our staff to teach and stay connected with our students during this unbelievable time.

I continue to wish everyone health and well-being, and I can't wait until we're able to gather together again.

Stay Strong Holley!

Sincerely,

Brian Bartalo
Holley Superintendent
