Throwback Thursday - Opening Day for Staff
Here's the fourth of a series of articles that captured what happened in September at the start of the 2020-21 school year. Note: Photos of students, staff and families were taken following appropriate coronavirus measures that were in place at that time.

Holley CSD faculty and staff began their opening day in the MS/HS Stadium the morning of Sept. 3. Staff wore masks and were able to socially distance in the bleachers or along the fence that surrounds the track. Superintendent Brian Bartalo outlined the five guiding principles for this school year:

  • Safety
  • Support for each other
  • Celebrate being back together
  • Collaborate and share experiences
  • Students
“The most important principle is to focus on our students,” said Bartalo. “Love them and support them. We’re all first-year teachers this year, first-time bus drivers, and first-time counselors. We’re all working in a new environment, so please be patient, try new things and help each other. ”
