Positive COVID-19 Cases at Holley CSD
December 9, 2020

Dear Holley Central School District Families and Staff,

This notice is to inform you that a Holley Elementary School staff member and four Holley students have tested positive for COVID-19. The last day the staff member was in school was Wednesday, December 2. None of the students (three at the ES and one at the MS/HS) have been in school since November 23 (prior to Thanksgiving). The district is unable to legally disclose any other additional details or personal identifiable information about these individuals per the federal privacy laws.

Since the students have not been in school for over two weeks, there will not be contract tracing for them. The Department of Health (DOH) is still processing the case with the staff member and we will cooperate with them. If warranted, any communication of the need for mandatory quarantine of students or staff members will come directly from the health department, which we will support. If the DOH indicates there is anything further that needs to occur at the school building or district level given this particular situation, we will keep you updated.

Please remember that parents need to continue to closely monitor students’ health at home. Any student who exhibits any COVID-19 symptoms or has been tested for COVID-19 should not be reporting to school in-person until cleared by a medical professional and/or receives a negative COVID-19 test result. Also, please contact your child’s school if you have been notified that he/she has been placed on mandatory quarantine by the health department, so we can plan accordingly. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s medical provider, a school nurse or an administrator.

Thank you for your continued efforts to remain safe.

Brian Bartalo
Superintendent of Schools
