Holley HS Student Tests Positive for COVID-19 - 11/24/20
November 24, 2020

Dear Holley Central School District Families and Staff,

This letter is to inform you that a Holley High School student has tested positive for COVID-19. The last day this student was on our campus was Monday, November 23. The district is unable to legally disclose any additional details or personal identifiable information about this student per the federal privacy laws.

The district will cooperate with the Department of Health (DOH) in their efforts to conduct necessary contact tracing. Given that we will not be in school over the next three days, we’ll do all we can to provide information to those who could be contacted to the best of our ability. Any communication of the need for mandatory quarantine will come directly from the health department. If the DOH indicates there is anything further that needs to occur at the school building or district level, we will keep you updated.

If your child receives confirmation that they have tested positive for COVID-19, please contact your school’s nurse or principal immediately so we can help the DOH most efficiently begin the contact tracing process. It’s also important to remember that any student who has COVID-19 symptoms or has been tested, should not be reporting to school until cleared by a medical professional and/or have a negative test result. Also, please contact your child’s school if you have been notified that he/she has been placed on mandatory quarantine due to a close contact, so we can plan accordingly.

In addition to working closely with the health department, we will continue to reinforce the best practices of mask wearing, staying physically distant from others, handwashing, and maintaining our daily cleaning and sanitizing protocols.

Thank you for your continued efforts to remain safe.

Brian Bartalo
Superintendent of Schools
