Holley Bus Driver Tests Positive for COVID-19
December 11, 2020

Dear Holley Central School District Families and Staff,

This notice is to inform you that a Holley School District Bus Driver has tested positive for COVID-19. The last day the driver worked was Tuesday, December 8. The district is unable to legally disclose any other additional details or personal identifiable information about this individual per the federal privacy laws.

The health department is still processing this case with the driver and we will cooperate with them. If warranted, any official communication for mandatory quarantining of students or staff members will come directly from the health department. If the health department indicates to us that there is quarantining required for the students who rode that bus, we will reach out to those families ASAP. In the meantime, if you don’t hear from the school district or the department of health, there’s nothing for anyone to do at this time.

Today the Governor announced that the State Department of Health will be reassessing the “warning zones” (yellow, orange, and red) across NYS, and an announcement about any changes in those zones will be made on Monday, December 14. If Holley is placed into one of the zones, I will send out a district communication with information, especially as it pertains to the need to test students and staff. If we have to start conducting COVID testing in order to remain open for in-person learning, we will need parent/guardian consent to test students. We would send out consent forms, shortly after any announcement of going into a COVID warning zone.

Thank you for your continued efforts to remain safe and healthy.

Brian Bartalo
Superintendent of Schools
