District Update – May 29, 2020 - Last Day and Year-end Information

Greetings Families and all in the Holley School Community,

As NYS enters the next phase of re-opening, the school district is entering our final month of this school year. June is just a few days away, and we have a lot to accomplish as we close out this year and begin to prepare for how we’ll start school in the fall.

We are now able to announce that our last day for students this year will be Wednesday, June 17. Students and families will receive specific year-end assignments and other important news from teachers in the coming weeks.  Please note that school administrators will also be sending home information about report cards and how to turn in computers and/or other electronic devices students were issued during this year.

We are looking forward to many of our traditional June activities to occur. School staff members have been working on virtual and other acceptably safe ways to have awards and moving up ceremonies for our students. Nothing would be better than to have these special activities in person, as we normally would have. However, we still have to comply with NYS and local requirements to ensure the safety of all. Thank you for understanding and for supporting how we will recognize and celebrate our students this year.

As you know, the school budget and Board of Education election will be done via absentee ballots this year. Ballots will arrive to all eligible voters very soon, most likely early next week. All completed ballots will have to be returned to the district by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9. Ballots can be mailed back (a postage-paid, addressed envelope is enclosed in each ballot) or delivered in person to the ballot collection box located outside District Office. If you don’t receive a ballot, you can request one by emailing [email protected]. Please contact us at 638-6316 ext. 2003, if you have any questions about this process. We appreciate you exercising your right to vote.

Detailed information about our 2020-21 budget and Board of Education candidates is available in our Budget News:  http://www.holleycsd.org/Downloads/NEW%20Holley%20Budget%20News%202020_final_web.pdf or on the district website: http://www.holleycsd.org/2020-21Budget.aspx.

Once again, thank you for all you’re doing for our students during these challenging times of at-home learning, especially now that our weather has improved. Our school-to-home partnership is more important than ever. Thank you too for your continued overall support of our district. Have a great weekend and stay healthy.

Stay Strong, Holley!
